Two Daze Pleasure Yacht Club History as passed down by Tom Greulich

The Two Daze Pleasure Yacht Club was formed in February 1986.  To understand the history of the club, you need to go back to 1984 when the founders of the club would raft together in Illinois Creek.  Back then there were six to eight boats that were part of a group that always seemed to have a good time.  As time went on, the group got larger and every once in a while they would comment on forming a boat club.

One Sunday afternoon in February of 1986 there was a spontaneous cruise aboard the "Bosan's Locker".  The people on that cruise included Bob and Sandy Bren, Bill Hughes, Dave Smith, Kelly McFall, Gary Leslie, Gail Eckerd, and Maria and Tom Greulich.  It was during that cruise that they decided to from an official club.  The name "Two Daze Pleasure" was picked after lengthy discussions.  The name was picked because they used the boats for two days pleasure on weekends.  The words "Yacht Club" were added at a later time.  The logo was rough drawn on a paper towel and the design was improved upon.  On that same day they came up with the list of charter members they wanted to be an important part of forming the club.  The original members were all people that had been boating together on a regular basis over the prior months.

On the following Tuesday a meeting was held at Bill Hughe's home.  Attending the meeting were Bill Hughes, Gary Leslie, Dave Smith and Tom Greulich.  The purpose of the meeting was to draft the charter, draft the by laws and write a letter to the prospective members announcing the formation of "Two Daze Pleasure."

The first meeting was held at Tom Greulich house on March 1, 1986.  It was at this meeting that the club was officially formed, officers elected, and the charter accepted.
